Police bust Maryland house

A suspected Maryland Street drug house is out of operation tonight... at least, for now.

On Sunday evening at about 6 p.m., Winnipeg police raided the house that neighbours say believe is a drug den.

Police tactical units were seen busting into the house, rifles at the ready and with K-9 unit dogs following close behind. Witnesses watched as four suspects, three males and a female in their 20s, were led out of the home in handcuffs. By 7 p.m., at least seven police vehicles were still on the scene, interviewing people on the home’s front lawn.

Before the bust, police also entered a nearby apartment building, witnesses said. One area resident said the house had been raided by police as recently as two weeks ago, but was back in operation within days.
