Police have released the name of the 69-year-old male found dead in his St. Vital apartment on Jan. 3.

Keith George McFee could be Winnipeg's first homicide victim of 2014 or the last homicide victim of 2013.

Const. Jason Michalyshen said police were called to investigate McFee's suite on Jan. 3. Neighbours hadn't heard from McFee since around Boxing Day, which prompted their call to police.

Investigators are reporting the deceased suffered upper-body injuries.

Family has been notified of the death and an autopsy will be performed in the next day or two, said Michalyshen.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
