Three men are facing numerous drug-related charges following a pair of million-dollar pot busts in the city earlier this week.

The men, aged 43, 52 and 49, were arrested on Wednesday and Thursday following separate searches of two Winnipeg residences.

The first search warrant was executed at a home in the 100 block of Burnhill Bay in south Winnipeg on Wednesday. Inside, members of the marijuana grow-operation unit seized 1,006 marijuana plants (estimated street value of $1,126,720), 100 grams of dry marijuana ($1,000) and grow-op equipment valued at $22,000.

A lone man was arrested without incident.

Later that day, officers searched a residence in the 100 block of Southbridge Drive in Southdale. Though no one was inside, police seized 1,075 marijuana plants ($1,204,000), 109 grams of dry marijuana ($1,090) and grow-op equipment estimated at $23,000.

Police arrested two men on Thursday for their alleged involvement.

Investigators indicated that the theft of both Manitoba Hydro and water was occurring in both instances.

The three men were released on a promise to appear.
