Police dogs track Crestview robbery suspect

Police used dogs to track an armed-robbery suspect in west Winnipeg on Monday.

Officers responded at to a commercial robbery in the 800 block of Cavalier Drive around midnight after a suspect produced a hand gun, demanded money, and left with cash.

Police dogs tracked a suspect to a rear yard where he was hiding. Officers located and seized a replica handgun from the suspect.

Elvis Turtle, 29, from rural Manitoba, was charged by police with robbery with a firearm, using a imitation firearm during commission of offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and breach of probation.

Turtle is being held by police.
