Police investigate alleged child-abduction attempt in East Kildonan
Winnipeg police are investigating an alleged child-abduction attempt Monday afternoon in East Kildonan.
A 10-year-girl, a student at Hampstead Elementary School, was allegedly approached by a man wearing a black ski mask and driving a white van as she walked back to school after lunch.
He allegedly offered her candy but she refused and then ran into the school, with the man in pursuit. The girl reported the incident at school and was driven home by the principal.
A police spokeswoman confirmed officers are investigating the alleged incident and hope to have more details on Tuesday.
