A man is in stable condition following a shooting involving a Winnipeg police officer last night.
Officers were called to the Domo gas station at Donald Street and Wardlaw Avenue around 9:20 p.m. after there were reports of a suspicious person in the area.
Upon arrival, officers were confronted by a 21-year-old man, which resulted in one of the officers shooting the man in the upper body. The suspect was transported to hospital in stable condition.
There was a blood mark visible on the ground near the entrance to the gas bar this morning.
No further information is available.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the homicide unit, per police service policy. The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave.
