Police issue alert about stolen medication

Police are urging the public to be cautious after medication was stolen on Saturday night.

At some point during the night, an unknown suspect broke into a residence in the 300 block of Pritchard Avenue and stole medicine including Xanax and Tylenol 3 pills.

Police remind the public this medication can be harmful if taken in large quantities. Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call police at 204-986-6222.

Police also warned the public on Sunday night about another set of medication stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Gertie on Friday afternoon.

Whoever broke into the vehicle stole a number of fentanyl patches, which are used to treat moderate or severe chronic pain. The medication can be fatal if misused, police said.
