Police keep busy at boot-scootin' festival

The first few days of Dauphin Countryfest are in the books, and police have been buzzing.

Officers have responded to a number of calls since Countryfest opened its gates in Dauphin on Wednesday afternoon, including 1 disturbance, 3 assaults, 8 traffic offences, and 32 tickets for speeding.

Also, a 23-year-old Brandon man was arrested for impaired driving at Countryfest after he ran his vehicle into a parked car.

Police have also issued tickets for open liquor, and RCMP officers will be conducting check stops in the Dauphin area throughout the weekend.
