Police kept busy with overnight robberies
Commercial robberies kept Winnipeg Police busy over night.
A restaurant in the 1000-block of McPhillips Street was held up about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
A lone man armed with a weapon confronted three employees. He demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.
There were no injuries.
The suspect is described as white, about 30 years of age, 6-feet tall.
Around midnight, a gas bar in the 3700-block of Portage Avenue was held up.
The lone attendant said a man armed with a weapon entered the gas bar and demanded cash and cigarettes and then fled.
The suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, about 20 years of age, 5-6 in height, with a thin build and a scar below his left eye.
At 4 a.m., a convenience store in the 800-block of Ellice Avenue was held up.
An armed man fled with cash and cigarettes.
No one was hurt.
The suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, with short dark hair and a small black moustache.
