A bizarre encounter in a Transcona store washroom has Winnipeg police searching for a suspicious man.

The incident took place on Sunday at about 2:15 p.m. at a business on the 1500 block of Regent Avenue West. The initial investigation revealed that an unknown man entered the women’s washroom and remained there for a period of time. A young female customer entered the washroom and later told her mother a man had looked under the stall she was in.

The suspect was confronted when he left the washroom and quickly fled the store. He is described as Caucasian, about 40 years old with short brown hair. He was wearing a blue and white striped shirt and a red backpack.

The victim was not injured during the encounter.

If you have any information on this incident, please contact investigators at 204-986-2857 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
