Police searching for robbery suspect

Police are on the hunt for a robbery suspect that struck a convenience store on Friday evening.

At about 8:10 p.m., police were called to the shop in the 700 block of Mountain Avenue.

According to police, a male suspect had entered the store and walked up to the 49-year-old male clerk, who was the only person in the store. The robber made off with cigarettes and fled the store.

The clerk was not injured.

The suspect is described as an aboriginal male, about 30 years old, and six feet tall with a large build.

Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 204-786-8477.
