Police seek driver in white mini-van who approached kids near Corydon

WINNIPEG - Police are on the lookout for a man driving a white mini-van who approached two boys near Corydon Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

The children, aged two and 13, had just left a convenience store and were walking near Corydon and Arbuthnot Street when they were followed by a slow-moving van.

When the kids got to Arbuthnot and McMillan Avenue, the van stopped and the male driver left his vehicle and asked the children if they would like a ride. When they refused, he drove off.

Police describe the driver as a 50-year-old white male, five-foot-10, with a slim build and wearing a grey hat, a grey winter jacket and dark sunglasses. His white mini-van had dark tinted windows. Police don’t have a licence plate number.

Anyone who has information regarding this incident or the vehicle is asked to contact Division 16 Crime Unit members at 986-2877 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
