Winnipeg police are asking for the public’s help in a series of incidents involving the theft of camera equipment.
The three thefts occurred in 2013 in a span of three months (August to October). Two different camera shops -- one in the 900 block of Portage Avenue, the other in the 600 block of Empress Street -- were broken into, with a large amount of camera equipment stolen.
Police estimate the total amount of property stolen at over $56,000.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Police have verified the serial numbers on the equipment and have reviewed the security surveillance tape. Police are requesting the public be aware of anyone in possession of a large quantity of high-end camera equipment available for sale at a reduced price.
