Police warn of gold fraud scheme
Operators of a gold fraud scheme have returned to Winnipeg.
Winnipeg police issued a warning this afternoon that they’ve received numerous complaints in the past two weeks about victims buying what they believed to be valuable gold jewelry from stranger that turned out to be worthless costume jewelry.
A similar warning was issued by the WPS at the end of December.
Police said anyone who has been a recent victim should report the incident in person at a local police station.
