Prisoner dies in police cruiser collision
A 42-year-old Kenora woman in the custody of Kenora OPP died early this morning when a cruiser collided with a tractor-trailer at the junction of Highway 17A and Highway 658 (Redditt Road) around 2 a.m..
The Ontario Provincial Police are not releasing the woman’s name or saying why she was in custody.
The two officers in the vehicle were taken to Lake of the Woods District Hospital for examination and were released. The driver of the tractor trailer unit was uninjured.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been notified.
