Province provides free oral cancer drugs

The Selinger government made good on one of its major election promises today by making oral cancer drugs free.

The measure was announced in Tuesday's budget.

The Home Cancer Drug Program allows patients to get cancer treatment in their homes and will see the province cover 100 per cent of the cost of cancer treatment and support drugs such as anti-nausea medication.

About 4,000 Manitobans receive such treatment.
