RCMP charge man in Oxford House fire
A 35-year-old Oxford House man has been charged with arson causing bodily harm as a result of a Jan. 25 fire in the northern community.
At 6:40 that morning, RCMP arrived to find two men standing outside a house fully engulfed by fire.
One of the men was brought to Winnipeg, where he remains in critical condition. Police are not naming him.
The other man, identified as Wilfred Chubb, was treated at the local nursing station.
Chubb has since been charged in connection with the fire.
Police said no other injuries were reported as a result of the fire. No estimate of damages is available. The house was completely destroyed.
