RCMP arrest five youths in St. Theresa Point death

Five youths are in custody and charged with second-degree murder following a death of 28-year-old Wayne Bradford Wood (above) in Island Lake on Thursday.

A St. Theresa Point man is dead and five youths are in jail following a death in the Island Lake community Thursday.

At about 12:15 a.m. on Sept. 26, Island Lake RCMP learned that 28-year-old Wayne Bradford Wood had been assaulted and left lying on a road in the community. Wood died at the nursing station a short while later.

RCMP have now arrested five local youths between the ages of 15 and 17 years old. All five are in police custody and have been charged with second-degree murder.

They are scheduled to appear in a Winnipeg courtroom on Monday.
