RCMP seek suspect in Steinbach sexual assault

  • Print

Steinbach RCMP are looking for a male suspect after a teenaged girl was sexually assaulted in the southeastern Manitoba community earlier this month.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Apr. 13. A 16-year-old female was walking down Main Street when she was approached by man in a black SUV.

After a verbal exchange, the man forced her into the vehicle and sexually assaulted her, RCMP said Friday.

The girl was able to flee the vehicle after "a period of time," RCMP said.

The suspect is described as approximately six feet tall with dark hair that is thinning in the middle. He had a slight beard and was missing a tooth. The man was wearing jeans, a black hoodie and black gloves.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Steinbach RCMP at 204-326-4452 or CrimeStoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477.
