RCMP seized several firearms and laid dozens of charges Saturday during a raid on two homes at Sandy Bay First Nation.
The raid happened just before 10 a.m. and involved several RCMP detachments, the gang intelligence unit, the national weapons enforcement team and the Dakota Ojibway Police Service.
Using search warrants, police seized several prohibited and stolen firearms along with ammunition. None of the weapons or ammunition was safely stored.
Three men and a woman, all residents of Sandy Bay, are facing numerous firearm-related charges. One man remains in custody while the rest have been released and will appear in court in Portage la Prairie in April.
