Support for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Syria will find the streets of downtown Winnipeg this morning.
A public rally is scheduled in front of the Fort Garry Hotel, the site of a Canadian Red Cross-sponsored panelist presentation titled Perspectives on International Humanitarian Law (IHL). The event is slated to begin at 11:30 a.m.
Panellists include Catherine Gribbin, senior legal adviser on IHL at the Canadian Red Cross; Amar Khoday, assistant professor at the University of Manitoba’s faculty of law; and Dr. Lloyd Axworthy, current president of the University of Winnipeg and a former Foreign Affairs minister for the federal government.
The Peace Alliance Winnipeg group is organizing the rally.
