A Winnipeg lawyer has announced her bid for the Manitoba Liberal Party leadership in a press release.
Rana Bokhari, a graduate of the University of Manitoba, announced today she will be filing her nomination papers Tuesday.
"My legal training combined with years of experience in fundraising and in volunteering with a number of community organizations, has given me the foundation I believe is essential in working to rebuild the Manitoba Liberal Party into an effective and strong voice for all Manitobans," Bokhari said in the press release.
The Manitoba Liberal party currently holds one seat in the legislature. The party last won an election in 1953. The leadership convention this year will take place on October 26.
