The City of Winnipeg is receiving roughly half as many daily complaints about missed recycling and garbage pickup as it received one month ago.
During the week of Nov. 26 to Dec. 2, the city received an average of 115 complaints per day about missed garbage and recycling pickups from residential and small-business customers, according to water and waste statistics. The daily average number of complaints was 238 during the week of Nov. 5 to Nov. 11.
The statistics pertain to the entire city and involve all garbage and recycling contractors, including Emterra and BFI.
In early October, after three quadrants of the city switched over to automated-cart collection, the daily average number of complaints was as high as 300.
