The sudden spring snow melt has revealed a troubling mystery in Manitoba – the discovery of human remains and a suspected homicide.
Family members reported Travis Bilay, 23, missing from his home in Dauphin on Jan. 4. They told police Bilay hadn’t been heard from since New Year’s Day.
The investigation took an unexpected twist Tuesday when a rural property owner southwest of Dauphin discovered what appeared to be a body.
RCMP announced Friday afternoon that an autopsy has now confirmed the remains are those of Bilay's and that foul play is suspected.
No cause of death was released.
Major crime investigators are now seeking the public’s help in solving the case. Anyone with information is urged to call 204-622-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
