As July winds down and August approaches, the weather continues to defy expectations this week with cooler-than-normal temperatures.
It’s not unpleasant, but a little disconcerting. It’s like ordering a steaming hot chicken vindaloo and getting a chef’s salad. It’s like learning the role of a femme fatale designated for sultry Angelina Jolie will now be played by chipper Kristen Bell.
Today, the temperature tops out with an expected high of just 22 C, four degrees below normal, with a mix of sun and cloud and wind northwest 30 km/h becoming light late this afternoon. The UV index is 6, or high.
Tonight, the skies are expected to get cloudier with a 30 per cent chance of showers before Thursday morning with a low of 13 C.
Temperatures will stay below normal with sunny skies and 22 C the expected high both Thursday and Friday. But things will get warmer for the the long weekend with expected highs of 24 C for both Saturday and Sunday and an Angelina Jolie-esque 26 C on the holiday Monday.
