Robber strikes four times in downtown area

A robber struck four times in the downtown area on Thursday, police said this morning.

The same man is believed responsible for the four commercial robberies

An undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes was taken. No one was hurt.

Businesses robbed included: 12:30 p.m., hair salon in the 500-block of Bannatyne Avenue; 3:45 p.m., grocery store in the 600-block of William Avenue; 5 p.m., grocery store in the 400-block of William Avenue; 5:15 p.m., grocery store in the 100-block of Isabel Street.

The robber is described as white male, 35-50 years of age, 5’6-5’8 in height, with salt-and-pepper short hair, moustache/goatee and an average build.
