Robbers steal cash register

A pair of robbers, one of whom was armed, stole a cash register from a downtown coffee shop near the Law Courts building, only to be nabbed minutes later, police reported Sunday.

Police were dispatched to the downtown coffee shop around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Police reported the suspects, both male, entered the shop and grabbed a cash register and its contents.

Minutes later the suspects were spotted about six blocks away in the 100 block of Garry Street and arrested.

John Kenneth Adam Olinyk, 18 and Shane Swampy, 28, are in custody and facing a variety of charges, police say.
