New signs guiding cyclists to Investors Group Field have been installed after a cyclist died on his way to a Winnipeg Blue Bombers game earlier this month.
The signs, unveiled today, mark a recommended bike route to the stadium when heading south toward Plaza Drive, in advance of Thursday's home opener against the Toronto Argonauts.
Cyclist Dick Stevenson was hit by a car June 9 on his way to the stadium. He later died of his injuries and bicyclingsafety in the Pembina Highway area and in Winnipeg in general has been a hot-button topic ever since.
A map of the city’s recommended bike route is available on the Investors Group Field website.
