Canadians have a chance to become $55 million richer this Saturday.
Lotto 6/49 is giving away its biggest jackpot in Canadian history — $55 million. Its website states the jackpot from April 10 was carried over.
"The jackpot has been rolling because it hasn’t been won," Andrea Marantz of the Western Canada Lottery Corporation said. "Then it’s added to the sales until the next draw. Right now it looks like we’re going to hit that $55 million mark, which will be a brand new Canadian record."
Ticket sales for the draw end at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Last week, Toronto resident Maria Carreiro won the $40 million Lotto Max jackpot.
