Scammers knocking on doors, impersonating city workers: police
Winnipeg police are warning the public about individuals posing as City of Winnipeg employees offering to install water filtration systems.
Police said individuals posing as water and waste employees have recently approached residents in Old St. Vital offering to install water filtration systems. The City of Winnipeg water and waste department offers no such service.
Police are reminding citizens that city employees are issued proper identification and will produce it on request. Residents are urged to check identification before allowing anyone into their homes.
Anyone who has been approached by these individuals is asked to report the incident to police.
