Sherbrook Pool to remain closed for extended period

Winnipeg officials said the Sherbrook Pool will remain closed for an "extended period of time" for a detailed structural engineering assessment.

Last week, the city cancelled all swimming lessons at the Sherbrook Pool following an inspection. The City of Winnipeg has hired a private engineering firm to assist city staff with an engineering assessment.

The majority of the facility's fall swimming lessons have been moved to alternate pools. Registration for winter classes is slated for next week, and city officials said programs at Sherbrook Pool will not be offered.

Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex and Eldon Ross Pool will have enhanced programs for winter.
