'Silver Jet' at News Cafe
Dennis Hull will tell his tales this afternoon

The Silver Jet is coming to the Winnipeg Free Press News Café.
Yes, you read that right.
Dennis Hull, younger brother of Bobby Hull, known to legions of Winnipeg hockey fans as the Golden Jet, will be interviewed at 2:30 p.m. today.
The 68-year-old has carved out a niche as an entertaining public speaker. He performed at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival in 2011.
Even though he played in the shadow of his older brother, Dennis Hull was no passenger in the NHL. He scored 303 goals in 14 NHL seasons, all but one with the Chicago Blackhawks. Bobby was his teammate for eight of those seasons.
He also played in the 1972 Summit Series, the eight-game tournament from which his brother was banned for jumping to the Winnipeg Jets of the WHA.
Hull later befriended legendary Soviet goaltender, Vladislav Tretiak.
"I told Tretiak that he's become famous for letting in [Paul Henderson's] goal. I said to him that 'if you had stopped it, you'd probably be a cab driver in Moscow today,’" he said.
Hull is in town today as part of a cross-country tour by retailing giant, Target, which is staging events in different cities to remind Canadians that they’ll be entering the market in a big way – 124 stores – in 2013.
He was supposed to be joined by his brother, but there was a glitch with the timing. Instead, Winnipeg Jets captain Andrew Ladd, will fill in. The two will sign autographs at Red River Exhibition Park tonight from 6 p.m to 10 p.m.
