Sink hole causes transit delays

A sink hole in Transcona at the start of rush hour Thursday had a ripple effect on Winnipeg Transit as buses headed downtown and to other parts of the city were delayed for more than an hour.

By 9 p.m., most buses were back on schedule, a city operator said.

The problem began with a sink hole reported at 4 p.m. on Route 87 that closed Dugald Road east of Symington Road, he said.

Dugald was reopened to traffic at 5:30 a.m. today following repairs to the sink hole, which stemmed from a collapsed culvert.
