Snowmobiler dies after hitting house in Pukatawagan

A 20-year-old Pukatawagan man died Monday from injuries received when his snowmobile hit the front steps of a house, Pukatawagan RCMP report.

The collision occured just before midnight Saturday in the community. The man was not wearing a helmet, RCMP said.

He was taken to the local nursing station and then airlifted to Winnipeg in critical condition.

The man was operating his snow machine at a high rate of speed on the roadway when he lost control, RCMP said.

The incident remains under investigation.
