Dakota Hotel robbed Sunday

Winnipeg police are looking for several armed men who held up the Dakota Hotel in the 1100 block of St. Mary’s Road shortly after midnight.

"Several suspects were observed to enter the business while armed with a gun, bear spray and a knife and confront staff," Const. Jason Michalyshen said this morning.

"The suspects proceeded to rob the business of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing in a vehicle, later recovered by officers and determined to have been previously stolen," he said.

 No injuries were reported.

At 12:30 a.m., patrolling officers, the tactical support team, canine, and Air1 also joined the search.

The suspects are described as five-10 to six feet, with slim builds.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477), Michalyshen said.
