Stabbing in Weston area sends man to hospital

  • Print

A stabbing in the Weston area on Friday night has left one 21-year-old man in hospital.

On Friday around 11 p.m., police responded to the area of William Avenue and Worth Street where emergency personnel found a 21-year-old man with serious upper body injuries. He was rushed to hospital in unstable condition, but has since been upgraded to stable.

The victim and a male friend had been walking in the neighbourhood when they were confronted by two young men. The young men were described as wearing baggy clothes and riding bicycles. An argument occurred and one of the cyclists produced a knife, then stabbed the victim.

The suspects fled the scene and no arrests have yet been made. The investigation continues.
