Stabbing victim in critical condition

A man is in critical condition in hospital after an early morning stabbing incident Thursday.

Officers were called to the area of McKenzie Street and Selkirk Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. where they found the injured man.

The 52-year-old man, believed to be the victim of a robbery, was rushed to hospital.

Police have now learned the man was walking home when he was confronted by a man and woman. He was physically assaulted and stabbed, but nothing was stolen.

The suspects fled southbound on McKenzie.

The investigation continues.
