Steinbach RCMP looking for armed robbers

An armed robbery occurred in Steinbach Thursday afternoon. Police were called in at about 4:20 p.m. to a local business on 1st Street after a male dressed in black and wearing a balaclava entered the business and threatened the owner with a firearm, demanding cash from the register. The suspect made off from the scene with an unspecified amount of money. No one was injured during the incident.

Witnesses said the suspect fled with two other males also wearing balaclavas in a vehicle that was parked near the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early twenties, approximately 5’10" tall with a slim build.

The vehicle is described a red Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck. Police believe the truck may have been stolen in an earlier incident in Morris, Man.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Steinbach RCMP at 204-326-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 204-780 TIPS (8477). Police are advising the public not to approach the suspect as he may be armed.
