Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Winnipeg and much of the area around the Interlake and southeast Manitoba, and as far east as Pinawa.
It might be a good idea to grab that umbrella on the way out the door.
Environment Canada is calling for sunny conditions this morning before clouds start to roll in early this afternoon. With those clouds comes a 60 per cent chance of thunderstorms later in the day.
It will be humid and rather steamy out, as well, with a high of 30 C expected.
That risk of a thunderstorm will remain over Winnipeg throughout the evening. Tonight’s low is 16 C.
The weekend figures to be rather pleasant. Sunshine and daytime highs of 26 C are expected for both Saturday and Sunday.
The long-range forecast calls for more shower activity next week.
