Sunny weekend in store for city, cottage country

The remnants of thunderstorms from early this morning should make way for an extended period of warm and sunny weather for the Winnipeg area.

Friday should still be windy, Environment Canada’s forecast says, but skies should clear later this morning. A high of 16 C and a UV rating of 6, or high, is expected. Winds will be from the west at 30 km/h.

Four days of sunny weather begins Saturday according to the forecast. Saturday’s high should reach 21 C, Sunday will climb to 25 C and Monday should reach a balmy 29 C.

A similar weekend forecast is in store for cottage country on both sides of Lake Winnipeg.

Tuesday’s temperatures should moderate to 22 C, but there’s no mention of precipitation in the forecast.
