Suspect arrested in Marion Street stabbing

Winnipeg police arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with an afternoon stabbing on Marion Street.

On Monday, a 45-year-old man was stabbed in the 100 block of Marion Street around 3:05 p.m. Police say the victim had been walking in the area when he was confronted by an unknown man on a bike. The man bumped the victim, which resulted in a physical altercation.

The 45-year-old man was stabbed in the upper body. He is in stable condition.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failure to comply, and breach of probation. He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
