Suspect in break-in found in stolen SUV

  • Print

Police have a Winnipeg man in custody following a break-in and vehicle theft earlier this week.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a call to a restaurant in the 800 block of Pembina Highway after a report of a break-in. The perpetrators fled the premises before police arrived, but investigators managed to determine the identity of the lone male suspect and the vehicle involved.

The next day, at around 8:30 p.m., police received a call to a parking lot near the corner of Portage Avenue and St. James Street, where a driver, believed to be impaired, was found inside an SUV.

Computer checks showed the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Kyle Gordon Nesbitt, 32, was arrested without incident and taken into custody. He faces several theft-related charges, and was also in violation of a probation order.
