Suspicious man follows girl walking in West End during lunch hour

Police are looking for a man who followed a young girl as she walked during the lunch hour Tuesday in the West End.

The 13-year-old girl was walking in the area of Telfer Street and Sargent Avenue, when she noticed she was being followed by man she didn’t know, police said.

The girl walked for a long distance, cut through several yard and the man kept following her.

However, eventually the man turned away without contacting the girl, police said.

The man is described as aboriginal in appearance, 20-30 years of age, 5’10" tall, with a slim build and short dark hair. He was wearing jeans and a black sweater with the hood up. A large tattoo was visible coming out from his right sleeve and covering the top of his right hand.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 204-986-2839 or Winnipeg Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
