  • Print

A 42-year-old male was rushed to hospital in critical condition on Thursday after being stabbed "multiple times" with a large sword.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on the 100 block of Henry Avenue, after an argument between two males, police said.

One of the males produced a large sword and proceeded to stab the victim. The suspect fled and emergency services were notified.

The victim was transported from the scene in critical condition, later upgraded to stable.

At approximately 10 p.m., police arrested Joshua Kennedy, 18, in the area of the 500 block of Stella Avenue. He was charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon and remanded into custody.

Police said the charges stem from Kennedy’s alleged involvement in the assault.
