Teen charged after car flips near Selkirk

RCMP have arrested a 17-year-old boy for impaired driving.

Selkirk RCMP found a Pontiac Grand Am flipped upside down in a ditch on Highway 4 shortly before 5 this morning. A 16-year-old girl was trapped in the passenger's seat. The 17-year-old male driver from Selkirk was not injured but showed signs of impairment, police said.

Emergency Medical Services staff and fire crews extricated the girl, and she was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was arrested and faces impaired driving charges. He is in police custody.
