Teen sexually assaulted by man on bike

  • Print

A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted Tuesday night in the North End by a man on a mountain bike.

The girl was walking in the area of Dufferin Avenue and Salter Street at about 10:30 p.m. when a male riding a dark-coloured mountain bike approached her and started to talk with her.

Police said she ignored him and continued to walk eastbound on Dufferin Avenue when the man shoved her up against a building and began kissing and groping her.

The girl fought back and was able to run away.

The suspect is described as a man, East Indian in appearance, with a pock-marked face, a dark complexion, dark curly hair, dark eyes and bushy eyebrows.

The man was about 5-5 tall with a slim build and appeared to be in his mid-20s. He was wearing a blue hoodie with grey and black plaid sleeves, a white and black toque and dark jeans.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact investigators at 204-986-2848 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
