Two male youths are facing charges after a serious incident on Pembina Highway Tuesday evening.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., three boys were spotted on the Pembina overpass throwing rocks at vehicles travelling east on Bishop Grandin Boulevard. Showing no regard for public safety, the suspects are alleged to have targeted four different vehicles (a Nissan Versa, a Toyota Sienna, a Ford F150 and a Volkswagen Jetta), causing damage estimated at a total of $2,500.

The vehicles were travelling at approximately 80 km/h when they were struck by the stones.

Three of the victims pulled their vehicles over and started to chase the suspects. A 22-year-old man, who caught up with one of the suspects, was assaulted, as well.

Police eventually arrested two of the suspects, both 13 years of age. They are facing four counts of mischief endangering life charges. One of the boys is also facing assault and assault of a peace officer charges.

The investigation is continuing regarding the third male suspect. Police indicate he has yet to be arrested.
