Teens charged with stabbing woman

Two female youth are in custody following a stabbing Monday night.

The stabbing took place at about 9:45 p.m. in the area of Manitoba Avenue and Parr Street.

The initial investigation revealed that a 21-year-old woman was confronted by two youths, who proceeded to physically assault and stab the victim before running off with personal property.

A short while later, police and the canine unit tracked both suspects to the 700 block of Dufferin Avenue. Police indicate the victim’s property and a knife were recovered.

The victim is in stable condition.

Two females, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, have been charged with aggravated assault and robbery and are currently being held at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
