Three 18-year-old friends were accosted, robbed and held at knifepoint for 1 1/2 hours by a group of men including one calling himself "the slitter" or "the slicer" and another wearing a scary clown mask on Saturday afternoon in the Polo Park area.
The three friends - a man and two women - were all robbed of their property including cash, debit cards, identification and cellular phones. The male victim suffered minor injuries.
Police said the group of three had left the Polo Park area at about 4 p.m. and were walking to the creek area under the railway bridge east of Empress Street and Westway.
They had stopped to take pictures when they were surrounded by five assailants, including one with a knife. The male victim was assaulted in the upper body causing him to fall to the ground while one of the victims was robbed of her bank card and PIN number which resulted in an undisclosed amount of cash withdrawn by the suspects.
The victims were eventually allowed to leave and they called the police.
The suspects are described as:
#1 – Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 20 years-old, 6’00" tall, heavy build, short dark hair, scraggly goatee, possible hickeys on his neck and scars on his legs. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a while logo "COOGI" on the front and tan shorts. He referred to himself as, "the slitter" or "the slicer." He was in possession of a knife.
#2 – Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 20 years-old, tall, skinny build, brown spot or bump on the white area of his right eye, pocked marked face and a small tattoo on his left forearm. He was wearing a hat.
#3 – Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 20 years-old, 5’11" tall, medium build, clean cut, "Anderson" tattoo on the underside of his left forearm and dark brown slightly longer hair. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.
#4 – Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 20 years-old, 5’6" tall, heavier build, flatter face and acne on the top of his chest and lower back area. He was not wearing a shirt but was wearing black basketball shorts and a black brimmed hat.
#5 – Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 20 years-old, 5’7" tall, average build, light shorter hair, buck teeth, wearing a black t-shirt with white designs, black shorts, black hat and was referred to as "Jordon" by the other suspects.
Suspect #5 was in possession of and wore a scary clown mask at one point during the robbery incident.
