Who they are: Pregnancy and Family Support Services is a community centre and thrift shop.
What they do: The PFSS offers free social programing to the people in the downtown area and beyond. These programs include an early childhood learning program for children six years and under, parenting classes, life skills, literacy programs and a drop-in centre.
In their own words: We've been around for 36 years, providing a holistic service to the community. Anybody in the community is welcome to come in and use one of our programs, or to just come in for a coffee and some conversation. We have washrooms and a phone that people can use.
Their Christmas hope: That their clients have a warm and safe place to go during the holidays, and that they all have a wonderful and memorable Christmas.
How to help: The PFSS is always in need of diapers, baby formula and baby items such as receiving blankets, wipes, and food. They also take gently used items for their thrift store. People wishing to make a financial contribution can log on to www.canadahelps.org, and search for the PFSS.
